TABLES NOT SORTED - ITS SAFER THAT WAY - ITS POSSIBLE TO WORK OUT THAT MORE POINTS "FOR" = HIGHER POSITION IN LEAGUE

29th November - Stow&Bourton ladies nearly won a match last Thursday - pity it hinged on the last game which wen to Alcester. 4 - 2 to Alcester are quite good though!.

Bourton's mens team are going in with Moreton to organise a street party to celebrate their first win - that's probably why they are not winning  as its a bit cold to sit outside and eat jelly and ice cream. Just wait to March comes .

22nd November - Tables updated no missing cards but Blackminster still having trouble with finding ladies as we are at Stow&Bourton.

8th November - some missing cards have been located one with the signature missed off and the wrong score. No doubt it will be sorted soon. Updated for cards rec'd up to 8th November.

1st November - only 2 cards this week both Bourton missing cards details on Results page - my post has been getting through!

25th October - tables updated. Those Phantoms from Winchcombe need to spirit a card for last Sunday and there are a couple of others missing. Post strike not an excuse as they can e -mail them.

Phantoms can bring it with them when the come to get a hammering by Bourton's younger players - and an old one next Wednesday.

18th October -  Sent to first named on club's list .....

Here are the scores for all the cards up to Saturday 17th October. Postponed seems the one in the lead followed by TBA.

St Edwards men are no more but the mixed have a team - contact Gill Peacy if fixtures need to be fixed up.

I have not sorted the scores "For" to give league positions as I thought it was pretty easy to work out that the higher the number in the "F"column the nearer the top you are.- much easier than sorting out the mess when the sort is done and it goes wrong. I will do it when we get something to sort.

If you don't want this e-mail in the future let me know - equally let me know if anyone wants it who does not get it now.

10th October - updates made from cards thant I have and some that I don't have - they can be e-mailed through to save them getting held up in the mail.

News

We are still on with Freewebs with its problems and fickle downloading from Microsoft.

We do have an alternative lined up but that depends on me understanding it and I have not had the time. Freewebs does, eventually do what is asked of it  and I have reduced the number of pages so there is less chance of getting a dodgy connection when I am updating - one screen instead of three.

Anything that looks wrong probably is so let me know.

I have done changes to the Club Details for Blackminster so don't go to the Leisure Centre because they are playing just the Worcester side of Tescos  and.....

.....Jon Quinn has only his mobile for the contact number.

St Edwards have dissapeared they are not answering calls or e-mails  so if you are one of the lucky ones with a date for a match it may be better you check with them if you can raise them as you could have a wasted journey and be an unlucky one. Bourton were due to play them last Monday (5 Oct) and the Bourton men are still camped out waitng for them to show - and they were so good last season! (St Edwards not Bourton)

Matters arising from 2008 AGM:- It was suggested that we should go back to the 15 scoring system as opposed to the rally point system but this was decided that it would be a backwards step.

Mike went through the figures and as we were very comfortably in credit it was decided to waive entry fees again for the forth coming season. It was also suggested that we should spend some of the money on advertising in local papers to attract new clubs to the league. Clubs to email Jean with possible contacts of new clubs.

Any Other Business

Anything agreed at the 2009 AGM should be implemented with immediate effect. It was decided that if any changes were voted for by the majority then it should be actioned immediately this was voted for unanimously.

Returning to 6 players in a mens team. It was decided to keep them as 4 players partly because of being able to travel in one car and also to keep the same amount of teams in the league.

Change of the format of mens matches whether to have the same partner for the first 2 rubbers then change partners for the last one. It was decided to keep it the same way as the ladies which is to have the 4 players numbered 1-4 and rotate partners in each rubber.

Change of penalty points. It was decided that because of the news point system that the penalty points should be 4 points and not 10 as previous. Proposed by Alcester and seconded Martin – Stow.

Fielding weaker teams. It was decided that if clubs wished they could arrange “friendly’s” for there junior members ad hoc.

Play off and presentation at the end of the season. After much discussion it was agreed that if there was enough interest, clubs to inform Jean of numbers, then it would be a possibility that a small tournament could be played at the end of the season possibly 25th April 2010 followed by a presentation of the winners trophy’s in the evening.

Meeting ended 10pm
